quoted 3 lines Well, first of all, I totally agree 100%, but you should mention that>Well, first of all, I totally agree 100%, but you should mention that >your opinion is a bit biased by the fact that some of your stuff is >out on that label... Sorry to be picky, just my 2 cents.
BZZZZZT. thanks for playing. it is true that i do consider the Exist Dance guys to be my pals, and it is true that my erstwhile techno outfit, The Ultraviolet Catastrophe, has done a remix of an Exist Dance track (which appeared on Twitch vinyl 11 and CD 8). however, to date, none of my material has ever been released on Exist Dance. In fact, I've never even approached them about releasing any of my stuff.) Exist Dance Rumour Department: Mike K. was supposedly approached by a guy from Paramount Pictures who wants him to do a techno cover of a Neil Young song for an upcoming film...! The guy apparently heard a Tranquility Bass track on the radio and was so impressed that he tracked down Exist Dance based on that one listen. Reply to: exist dance exist dance is not dead, far from it, reports in URB magazine notwithstanding. tom hasn't been doing any music for a LONG time anyway. he took off a year or more ago to go do some painting in the desert (or something like that) and never returned. so it's just been mike and tyler for a long time now. and now that they are sequestered away on some remote island (on 10 acres! with a harpsichord!) we should be hearing loads of wacky stuff from them soon. btw, regarding last week's tylervision thread... the stuff that has been released bears no relationship to the stuff they've got stashed away. there's a track called "why" that will probably never see the light of day due to a giant neil young sample. too bad, cos every time i hear it i just about puke from laughing. there's some other gems as well, including a great track with some negativland style cutups... "the farmer said to the boll weevil... YOU LIKE MY SEVEN INCH LEATHER HEELS!!!!" /jon
