I'm glad I'm not the only old fart listening to this stuff ... speaking of which, I've noticed that John Draper AKA Captain Crunch has been posting long rave reports on alt.rave. For those of you who aren't computer historians, Mr. Draper invented the Blue Box phone hacking box, invented the first 'War Games' dialing modem, and wrote the first word processing program for IBM PC's. I KNOW he's at least 40, and from the sound of his posts he's turned into a real dancing fool. By the way, my trademark quote on techno is this: "Isn't disco a lot easier to take now that John Travolta isn't a part of it?" (C) Kent Williams And while I'm off the IDM subject, if you want a break from electronics, check out 'Bewitched' the new Luna record.

Actually, if I remember what he said in his first "scene report" correctly, he's about 50(!) Unrelated: Yeah, I finally got SAW2 the other day (yank waiting for the cheap release). Is it just me, or is the second track on disc two (uh, man scratching green beard with bubblewrap.... sorry, I'm not even _trying_ to figure out the whole secret-decoder-ring pictures deal) a keen-o beatless remix of "Xtal" from SAW 85-92? ----------------------------------------------------------------- dave walker, detroit art services _ marmoset@msen.com freeke robot luv

I'll give you another one: the fourth track on disc two of "SAW.II" is a remix of the eleventh track on "Analogue Bubblebath III" CD of AFX. Greets, Lawrence ---

I agree, i just listened to this song this morning. I didn't go back through SAWI to see which song it was. But X'Tal is plausible. I think it's sort of neat, the same sounds only much more mellow.
