Yeah I saw that David Toop Cd. The Oscillate people were giving copies to all and sundry at the Biosphere gig. Everyone was walking around with copies except me, cos, like I said, I was the only bona fide punter in the place. I was thinking of trying to blag a copy but I`d have just got laughed out of the venue because I`ve never made an album with Pete Namlook. It made me sick because they gave the CD to this Daniel Pemberton kid and he does nothing, he`s just some little kid that Morris likes, and I present a student radio show _and_ DJ at Megatripolis etc (besides that I`m a bloody talented musician, yeah right) so I should have got one!!!!!!! Roy, what do you mean "What`s `Azimuth`?" !?!? It`s basically brilliant Detroit techno and ambient, light years in time ahead of it`s time. (_even_ though it`s on warp) Shawn, why don`t you tell us the Top Ten emotive tracks? The list you sent us left a few out. Plus who is Ornette Coleman? Worth checking out? Apparently Morris almost played a gig at Brixton supporting Sun Ra about 4 years ago but it was pulled at the last minute or so. He really believes that Sun Ra was born on Saturn! I said "sun Ra`s dead" and he said (seriously) "he wsn`t from Earth, he was from Saturn". I said "oh, right", and he said "he`s gone back now." Should but Jason`s mind to rest about whether or not "Flying High" was drug-inspired... John Tuffen: review-uh of Cosmic Strings-uh! Moldavia! (Mark E Smith) Dave Walker + Fluid: Between us me and Phil have all three Drexciya EPs, the first was on Shockwave and I reckon it was the best. I like the first track on Drexciya 2 best, nice funky shimmery stuff. Underground Resistance are the best! But haven`t they split up now, and it`s just Mad Mike? He`s a nutcase, he really is. Check the run-out groove for Galaxy 2 Galaxy side D: "Final Transmission: I have found it there is existence other than us I have transformed The tones are the keys to it all! I`ll be back... mad mike" Genius! Drexciya 1 is best, then 2 then 3. 1 on Shockwave, 2 on UR label and 3 on Rephlex. djkc: what, are you getting rid of your whole idm collection or what? Adamski says I should change my band`s name. He reckons Kinetic Illusion is dated. What do you think? I think... "Adamski... hmmmmmmm" From the man with the plan Brendan Nelson Lost Transmission From Cowley

Hm, according to an interview with Mad Mike in Import Index, Jeff Mills and Rob Noys left UR ("to carry on the assault from other cities.") but UR still exists, consisting of Scan-7, Mad Mike, the Suburban Knight, and Drexciya. (I've possibly left some people out -- my memory isn't perfect...). So UR doesn't exist in the same form as it used to, but they seem to be going strong still. Sigh, if only they put more stuff out on CD. The last thing I got with UR involved was the Submerge:Escape Into the Void compilation... Rob
