so i found this "united frequencies of trance - volume 4" CD on MFS. it has 5 tracks: kuala lumpur - werp 1 473 small green people with pointy heads - 0500 kuala lumpur - rewerp neutron 9000 - drift factor ocb federation - naked earth the first three are ok but not smashing. the last two are *wonderful* - i've heard other neutron 9000 productions and been Not Really All That Whelmed, but this one kicks. or rather, it doesn't, which is why it's so good - very mellow. so, what i want to know is: who are Neutron 9000 and OCB Federation? and where can i get other mellow trancey stuff like these two tracks? i have this weird premonition that the answer is going to involve the words "Cosmic Baby" at some point... Jon Drukman jdrukman%dlsun87@oracle.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This calls for a very special blend of psychology and extreme violence.

Heheh, no Cosmic Baby from me. Would you consider CB "bleep"? Here are some good suggestions: Just got this weeks picks from my local store's Watts shipment. CDs: trancesylvania 2 CD1: velocity - lust renegade legion - the weeping waste perry & rhodan - the beats goes on & on... exit eee - epidemic art of trance - gloria (transparent mix) pergon - sub bass experience legend B - end of a season (x-static female mix) cj bolland -camargue (galaxy remix) 3 of a living - rhythm of life (techno (per)-version) final fantasy - sometimes mark n.r.g. - high noon CD2: moby - move (electro mix) the prodigy - one love (johnny L. remix) microbots - lunaris element 109 - the vice illuminatus - love technique the spiritualist - flight over jerusalem titanic - ice breaker the rising sons - afghan acid cz 101 - cz 102 caspar houser - riding (dj tom & norman remix) oxytozin - biosphere 3 comatone - deep sleep - the quantum leap! ( a serious selection of german trance & dance ) "temple of gaia" - dee rex "journey to the wave" - ovation "second quantization" - el rubio "the big bang" - luxor "do you wanna trance?" - orange "return to zero" - remote xs "touch me" - ego "the ultimate sensation" - quite rite "rubio" - el rubio "start id 5" - 2 four t You'll either love this compilation or hate it. The first track is the best; probably an epitome of what I look for in music to spin...too bad it's not on vinyl. the dislikes would possibly come from track 7 or 8, which are a bit housey...maybe even cheese. The other tracks are trancey, melodic, and acidic...not too many harsh tweakings going on. ----- 12"s onda del futuro - terra remix (house pimps remix) [on the edge] terra remix (space dream mix) [TRANCE! ultimate stoney music] - jack n phil - tek trak [basement records] we are unity inst. - elevator - isolazione [fax]? distruttibile - 303, la mania [too fast to be this soft!] - the truth - 'the truth' (and nothing but the truth) [budgie records 002] [slightly housey, repititious, but decent trance sounds] - Arpeggiators - elements [harthouse] [would this be considered IDM?] More detailed reviews will be posted to Usenet. -djkc
