Narita isn't really all that minimal though - just the last two releases. Also no mention of the other Mathew Jonson label Itiswhatitis. It doesn't look like it from the website... "07/07/05 - IIWII is pleased to launch it's new limited edition 10" series called "Gallery Series". This series will focus more on downbeat, leftfield and house genres. First up is a four tracker from Dante & Dhula, two members from IIWII recording group Cobblestone Jazz. (Check the info at right) The first track from this release, "Why do the Wicked Ones Rule?" has already found its way into the charts of Straight No Chaser courtesy of Gilles Peterson, and gotten play on his worldwide radio show on BBC. We are also pleased to announce that IIWII will have 2 full length albums before the year is done. One will be a compilation of all locally based artists including Mathew Jonson, Dante & Dhula, Hrdvsion, Cobblestone Jazz and more. The other will be the long awaited full length Live LP from Cobblestone Jazz." Though I haven't seen that 10" around admittedly. thanks jeff. my original post did get very particular about the artists and albums i like, as well as the fact that i would prefer chiefly CD as opposed to vinyl. bear in mind i'm not claiming these are all "minimal techno" per se. some specific albums i like: Theorem: Ion Laub: Filesharing Deadbeat: Primordia Plastikman: Consumed Audion: Suckfish James T. Cotton: The Dancing Box Peter Grummich: Switch Off the Soap Opera Ellen Allien: Thrills T. Raumscmiere: The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle as a result of poking around the huge and amazing tresor site, i just bought these: Tresor.127 - Headquarters Berlin (Various Artists) Cristian Vogel: Busca Invisibles Tobias Schmidt: Dark Of Heartness i also have a bunch of ghostly and spectral stuff on its way, and for those familiar with his DJ sets, anything derek plaslaiko spins is great. thanks again, d. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
