lend your ear (& sampler) to a remastered version of "in the jungle groove" or james brown's greatest hits with the track "funky drummer". it is one of the sources of the most widely used amen break (check out "i am stretched on your grave" by sinead o'connor). from that point its all just ears, technique & gear(or software).
