which track? and to be argumentative, steve reich had them beat by a couple decades. the point isnt really if its been done or not, its how its been done. not doing something because someone before you has done something similar seems pretty lame, imho. as far as i know noone has remixed THIS train sound into a track, and they should. and i might. :) -- ________________________________________________________________ experimental electronic music -- bluevitriol.com interactive music machine -- improbableorchestra.com blogging the vitriol -- vitriolix.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i'd second the "it doesn't matter whether it's been done before" motion. also, go to http://www.smithsonianglobalsound.org and search "trains". plenty of beautiful field recordings. -b. On 6/1/05, eleventhvolume <enquiries@eleventhvolume.com> wrote:

i didn't listen to the sample, but chessie's sound is based around locomotives. check out his/their album "overnight". it's one of my favorite albums. ak
