A real mainstay of the IDM list 20+ years ago back with a new album. It's more dancy and straightforward than some of his earlier work but I love the delicacy and gentleness that seems his trademark. https://lusine.bandcamp.com/album/long-light

I don't know man, the debut on Isophlux last millenium was an instant classic, but everything else has left me wanting. I'll put the debut album on again, though. Cheers, phase np - black hearted brother _stars are our home_ On Fri, 15 Sep 2023, kent williams wrote:

Everyone has their own taste. I think his older work is great, but with experience comes a different vibe than the ispiration & exuberance of his early work. Maybe it's because I'm old but I'm still interested how people end up after exercising talent & technique over the long run. On Sat, Sep 16, 2023, 4:02 PM <phase@booyaka.com> wrote:

Isn't that the truth. "Coded" is dope af. I listened to the album digitally earlier today, but I'm so happy to have that track (and a few others from that era) on vinyl, so I just put it on. Unlike basically everything else he released, L'usine's exclusive use of breakbeats on that debut and ep, not to mention his judicious use of acid throughout, is what did it for me. And don't get me started on the breakdown 3:45 into "Twitch," and the slow build back up to the EPIC fucking climax about 90 second later. IDM-wise, that had to be best moment of '99. phase np: coded ep On Sat, 16 Sep 2023, lempamo wrote:
