With the rise in popularity of modular gear I am curious to know if there's been any stand out albums that are exclusively or primarily made on such gear. maybe even stuff that simply could not exist w/o these tools. I'd say IDM-wise the recent Datach'i and Richard Devine make the grade. More generally electronic music speaking Keith Fullerton Whitman's stuff around Generators (I haven't kept up with his newer stuff) and Caterina Barbieri's *Patterns of Consciousness* and *Ecstatic Computation. * There's recent ambient stuff that has received alot of attention but not that much of it is very interesting to me tbh. So - tell me what are the intensely ripping or uniquely beautiful and yes maybe even *novel* records that are capitalizing on the huge boom for this gear. ty fam

Ignatius is the shit. https://ignatiusmusic.bandcamp.com/ Everything I've done in the last 3 years has been done with VCVRack, a free virtual modular. chaircrusher.bandcamp.com On Tue, Nov 30, 2021 at 12:41 AM Chris Taylor <christaylor415@gmail.com> wrote:

VDS 1 & 2 are amazing, as are a lot of MGG's other works: https://mgeddesgengras1.bandcamp.com/ (& elsewhere on bandcamp). Lots of the current "Berlin School" artists lean very heavily on modular synths, as do some of the UK "hauntology-adjacent" artists like Polypores: https://polypores.bandcamp.com/ Scanner also does a lot with modular synths: https://scanner.bandcamp.com/ On Wed, 1 Dec 2021 at 07:16, kent williams <chaircrusher@gmail.com> wrote:

The Echoflex project by David Muddyman aka Jamuud from Loop Guru is dedicated as well to sounds from modular synths. There are great ambient albums Echoflex I-III and VII: Mythos but also more energetic albums Echoflex IV and V, created on VCV rack and Eurorack synthesizers. To get an impression, please check https://echoflex.bandcamp.com/ and for related visuals https://seehear.it Hope you like it. Best regards, Thomy[ee PS: there will be a Bandcamp Friday special announced soon in another mail...
