I managed to successfully get both the fink and precompiled versions of soulseek running on a mac... ...things seem to run smoothly most of the time but it is slightly flakey and not as good as the windows version. For example it periodically loses my config file which in turn loses all the downloads i'm currently getting (grrrr) ...but it's the best way i've found of getting obscure music from a mac :-) Sam Aaron PhD student, School of Computing Science, University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Hey, cheer up! It's extra annoying when the PC version does it! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

version where you can search other users files, chat, blah, blah, blah....it is a flakey version at times, but i have a fairly decent success rate. Interestingly, i have a friend who swears by the Newsgroups for downloads--i don't know anything about them--but i'm very happy with my Soulseek, just wondering if the "Precompiled version" is better than the one i currently have....
