Yotoko stands for a perfect fusion between Broken Beat, Techno and Soul. Their album is not about breaking barriers, but it is their own little twisted version of what they call "techno". For Yotoko techno can be heard in everything, so as such it is all techno. Domu and Shifty are influenced by lots of different stuff, soul, jazz, disco, hip hop, techno, some old break beat, new broken stuff.. as well 20 pence mad charity shop finds.. The album is about Yotoko making music they think is cool and realizing that all this music is the same no matter what the BPM or groove. Domu started as Sonar Circle for 4 Hero’s Reinforced label. Later on active as Domu for labels as Archive and 2000 Black and together with Archive label boss Volcov for the JCR-label with their album as Rima. Shifty is Domu’s longtime comrade, making his first musical public appearance as Yotoko. The album’s excellent artwork has been done by Amsterdam’s Machine. LOL. I was going to comment on the similarity in names between Yotoko and Yokota but thought I was being overly sensitive. Beware, beware!! If possible, listen before you buy. He has diffent styles and if you like Sakura (beautiful!!) you might not like his recent "Sound of the Sky" nor many of his older and distinctly housey releases.
