Heh, I have to wait until I get home to watch that. Effing Linux might be great for some things but all the audio/video stuff in browsers blows. I guess I forget to post about stuff I'm digging on IDM any more ever since I started doing a live journal ... but the YosepH CD is ultra-rocking. Luke Vibert rescues the TB303 from a million teenagers running cracked copies of Rebirth. It's like bringing a revered elder statesmen back from the collective farm after the end of the cultural revolution. For those of you not yet on Livejournal, I'm http://chaircrusher.livejournal.com/ and have codes I can share to get you started -- you have to be invited by a subscriber to get a free journal. There is a pretty decent IDM interest group there ... On Mon, 3 Nov 2003, pietrobot wrote:

Well livejournal hasn't killed IDM, by any means. The way livejournal works seems to make things work a little differently than either mailing lists, or blogs. The idea of friends whose journals you read regularly, and mutual friends, is a little like friendster, but without the whole circle-jerk feel that friendster has. You write in a livejournal because you want to record stuff - like you would in a private journal, but also for a presumably sympathetic audience. It's less ephemeral than e-mail lists, yet still encourages some spontanaeity in discourse. It doesn't seem to precipitate flame wars like mailing lists. It's just that magical admixture of features and limitations that seems to be successful and self-reinforcing. On Mon, 3 Nov 2003, cutups wrote:
