The Nobukazu Takemura show here was great, though the opening DJs were pretty hot and bothered and then Takemura and friends mellowed it out with the films/soundscapes. I think a lot of people unfamiliar with the music were turned off by the dramatic mood change. Anyway, there's lots of things coming up.... actually i think this place is much further north, like Damen/Foster or even further up (Andersonville). Rotten Tuesdays are supposed to be pretty good there although I've never been. Free though which is always a plus! I've been getting mailings from a ton of people playing/ setting up shows there. It's continuing where PLAY at DAnny's left off is what the general word is. It's supposed to be pretty good. Streetside on Armitage/ Kedzie was on that route for awhile.
