I picked up a 2x12" from Deadly Systems last night called Praxis USA. Hard dnb, hardcore, some noise. Dj Scud, Hecate, Christoph Fringeli and more in a similar vein. The vinyl mastering is interseting- the first three sides are standard grooves. On the fourth side there are three tracks, about 5 minutes each. The third track, at about 10 minutes in to the side, is a standard groove that progresses toward the center. On the first two tracks on the disc, however, the groove moves from the center towards the edge! Backwards! Still clockwise, so the music isn't backwards, but in a reverse direction. That's super neat! Has nobody tried this before? Other releases? Somebody should put out and entire record or reverse grooves.

There's an old Dallas hardcore breakbeat record by a group called NASA Project (was Joshua Kay in it? can't remember off the top of my head) that did this on the B-side. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I know Aardvark would master records this way, was listed on their main website with other weird stuff, like double grooved records (know a Psychic TV record was mastered this was) I had a 7" that was inside to out, but can't remember what it was to save my life, although believe it was punk. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

there's a UR record out there called something like "hidden beneath the shadows" its a dark colored record, at first glance its black, until you hold it up to the light, then you see its a deep shade of purple, not only that but check this out, the record, on one side has 2 tracks that play on different grooves, both located in the same place, place the needle at the beginning/ you have an electro track, lift up and pull back/forward, a groove/ you have a "dnb track" if you never lifted the needle you might never know that track was on it, i believe its a track by a guy named "chameleon" check it out, its a good record and even harder to find than you think, if anyone finds one anywhere, drop me a line, i want another, take care idm people, ryan griffin ryan@octanedetroit.com (new media designer) www.octanedetroit.com highly combustible design av3rs1on@aol.com (personal e-mail) graphic design digital animation and video dj sound designer/producer --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
