Yo! Does anybody know anything about the Midiman Oxygen8 Keyboard? It apparently allows you to control software programs in real time without a MIDI interface. Just curious as to feedback, as I just won one from a contest I entered through XLR8R. It's free, so what the hell right? http://www.midiman.net/products/midiman/oxygen8.php Thanks for the feedback, JS _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

actualy yeah the oxygen8 is a pretty nice . especialy is you have an aiso soundcard option....the only thing i found is that its heavy on the buffer...and has a bit of lag if you use a traditional sound card option...i suppose that could also be bacause of my outdated computer. although, i must mention that i know there is a model, perhapse even made by the same company that offers 2 more acotaves of keys and twice the midi control knobbies. i also believe its around the same price. if i can come up with the model/brand ill let you know. the oxygen8 retails for around 150 US dollars. hope that helps a bit. mike (tangible) www.8bitpeoples.com www.fulcruminn.net

There's also a 49 key version with 12 knobs, which I own, and am very happy with. I really like the look of the 2 octave one for portable use, too. Evolution makes good keyboards. The keys feel like normal synthy keys, but are quite sturdy. The oxygen8 keys are "unhinged," meaning that it's thin plastic that's bent each time you press the key. Although I'm sure they did enough tests to ensure that the plastic is durable, it means that a) it will wear out eventually, and b) better not break a key :) The evolution keys are on springs. The new evolution midi controllers also have USB, and I use mine in a setup where it receives power from the USB cable (so it doesn't use any other power supplies) and it exports midi along standard midi cables. The setup involved plugging it in, which I thought was really nice -- I didn't have to say "send out here, not here, etc." but, of course, is just my humble opinion :D derek ------- eggytoast.com ------- with lather thingy --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
