well, obviously Telefon Tel Aviv do a lot of guitar/electronics/IDM and their last LP is of hightest recommendation. i guess one of them plays guitar live too, which is rad. very friendly sounds, incredible production. Cornelius' latest LP, Point, is gosh-darn phenomenal and am suprised it hasn't gotten sweated on this list more. amazing production, warm tones, friendly complex beatage, and lots of guitars. i've heard some Capitol K tracks that incorporate a lot of guitar. his sound follows that loose PlanetMu style of freakish/lovely/playful/brilliant. Fennesz clearly does a lot of his work with guitar, but that might be a little ambient for your tastes, but very nice indeed. i saw Greg Davis live and he did some really nice stuff incorporating live guitar into his electronic set. it's warm, with enough beatage to make you want to atleast stand up and tap your foot. Hood's latest LP incorporates a lot of electronics into their guitar-based indierock set up with nice results. and yeah, Slowdive kicks ass. i admit partial ignorance, but it's a shame that more lasting bands didn't come out of that 'shoegazer' movement. other than the obvious, can anyone recommend any lesser know shoegazer (preferably authentic brit/early 90s) rockers? it seems with e supposedly rockin here in the states that maybe bands like SlipKnot will slow it down and get all huggy-bear.

Kinda off-topic but a shoe-gazery album that's worth trying to track down is Lucievacarme's only album on French label Lithium. I'm sure it's been out of print for a long time, but it really kicks ass. I once found a copy for 25 cents at Rasputin's in Berkeley, so it is *possible*. Their first EP with a cover of Dinosaur Jr's "Freakscene" is nice as well. How's that for lesser- known? Oh, and of course, everything up to (and including) Ride's first album. It's very spotty afterwards.
