Yo, Following on from the recent queery about a plug-in to synthesise speech, I found a program to remove the vocals from songs (in the karaoke style) on Analog X. I was wondering if anyone had the reverse device i.e. one that isolates the vocals and cuts out everything else. There's a whole list of bootlegs in my head that could come to fruition... Cheers, Dad. P.S. Is that how you spell queery? marciablaine.cjb.net forthcoming: e.p. on Dalriada inclusion on Benbecula "Music Volume 2" inclusion on Law & Auder "I Am:Bient" inclusion on Struktur _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

There's really no such thing. It would be nearly impossible to develop a plugin or device to do it. Basically, you could spend 100 hours with some parametric EQs tweaking bit by bit, but it's probably not worth your time. Just go buy some rap acapella records and chop them up like everyone else. hehe. cheers back at ya, jon acre ----- Original Message ----- From: "production unit" <productionunit@hotmail.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Friday, February 15, 2002 4:39 PM Subject: [idm] plug-in for isolating vocals

well, the previously mentioned plug-in works by discarding audio data that is identical between stereo channels (ie, the vocalist's signal, which is *usually* dead centre). if a plugin was written that reversed this (keeping *only* the data that is identical between right and left channels), then we'd have the voice alone left over (for the most part). unhappily, i can't say that i know of such a plugin/app/filter, or whatever you'd call it. blake/ acre wrote:
