For those of you who have become addicted to Proem
like I have, the new minidisc-only release on n5md is
out, and if you don't already have it (or have it
ordered), you're a monkey's uncle. My copy arrived
yesterday.
I've only been listening to it for the day, but my
initial impressions are that it's much darker than his
previous releases. In fact, portions of it are
downright depressing. Still, it's Proem, and absolute
bliss (and it ends on an "up" thanks to the excellent
ending remix by Secede).
If you're hoping for more ultimate-schitzo beats,
well, you may be dissapointed. It's not a beatless
trip through the clouds, but most of the tracks are
much more tame (beat-wise) than what you're probably
used to.
I hope to do a "real" review of it eventually, but for
now, if you don't own a minidisc player yet, Among
Others is definitely reason enough to get one,
especially if you already like Proem.
