Rumbling electric basslines support custom made samplebanks of drumsounds played fully live on electronic drumpads. Bleeps and squeeks honk and thunder through solid herky jerky rhythms and strange synthesizer acrobatics. Every sound is fully sculpted and intentionally placed with perfect contrasts and naturally flowing structures; included is a fuzzed out version of the star spangled banner as well as a manifesto type statement in the liner notes about "Borbid Toxic Disease". Full color bright artwork with photo and other signs and images. A delight. PH35:Vid:Fragrant Stirrings:CD This is the debut album by Vid aka Televasquez from the Incomplet label out of Oakland/Berkeley area. Clear sound design and production, patiently molded into bites of mainly tonal situations set over slow moving drum machine patterns. It will focus on a pass of just one tone/beep/hum/buzz, and then manipulate it differently on each new pass, "stirring the fragrances" and creating atmospheres that are not beligerant but still demanding of scrutiny and repeated listens. Similar ideas which might compare include "The Mimic and the Model" from the Cytrax group as well as certain moments from Chessie's early recordings. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
