it's fall and n5MD is officially one year old today. Here's the latest news
and happenings from the n5 camp....
:::n5MD Release news:::
The Proem MiniDisc release is on track for it's Oct 30th release. There are
sound samples of all the tracks up on the new n5 site.
For those of you in the austin area Proem will be doing a live set @ kvrx on
the 9th of OCT.
n5 has recently struck a deal with ML (pronounced m-luh). You may know of ML
from their appearance on MD1, their many comp appearances, and their CD on
Toast and Jam records. ML lands at n5 for a
full-length CD tentatively titled "everybody looks like somebody else". ML
has grown from a delicate and playful electronica artists to gritty
experimental beat chemists much akin to speedy j. This CD marks the first CD
in n5's line of releases and promises to be a great opener for that format.
(hummm...n5CD has a nice ring to it....)
The vcam 12" is starting to whip into shape. vcam's intelligent, textural,
and mind altering workout will be out sometime in the spring of 2002. Keep
your eyes peeled to the n5 site for more info and sound samples coming soon.
Other releases in the works are the Tim Koch full-length MiniDisc and the
next in the MiniDisc compilation series "MD8".

To commemorate our one year anniversary we've launched a new website and
have added mailing
list and artist sections to the n5 site. We're also working on a MD
subscription idea
that would allow you to pay a subscription fee and automatically
receive n5 MiniDisc releases even before they hit the stores...more on this
in the months to come.
We'll also in the coming months have "n5MD:acron:year:2" T-shirts
so keep your eyes peeled for those.
