Dear ATP Friends,
BREAKING NEWS :
I am afraid I am writing as the bearer of bad news and due to direct and
indirect consequences relating to the September 11th incident in New York
City we are having to re-schedule ATP USA from October 19th -21st to March
15-17th 2002. I am sure this will upset a lot of you as it has me but I can
only apologise for something that could not be avoided and was beyond my
control.
All tickets purchased are still valid for the re-scheduled event but if you
are seeking a refund go back to point of purchase and you will receive your
money back.
For the new event we will have a new batch of 3 day passes priced at $100
which should be available by the middle of this week.
Please read the attached Sonic Youth statement and we will return with a
bigger and better event.
A full line-up will be announced very shortly but it appears that 85% of the
bill will still stand
Kind regards
Barry Hogan

ATP statement from Sonic Youth
To all concerned,
After much deliberation, the All Tomorrows Parties organisation, UCLA
Performing Arts along with curators Sonic Youth, have opted to postpone the
dates of this event (originally Oct. 19-21 2001) to the weekend of March
15-17 2002. It will still happen at UCLA campus.
Though Sonic Youth have been severely compromised (their studio exists at
"ground zero" and is, for the most part, inaccessible - some of us have been
evacuated from our homes, some of us were directly under shower of the
attack), the band was prepared to play ATP regardless. All involved were
prepared to have the event address the crisis and to deliver proceeds in
benefit. A gathering of musicians, artists and poets could only have been a
positive thing.
Personal travel anxieties, a complete halt to ticket sales and a general
sense of unease due to the unpredictability of the Bush/Taliban conflict are
the primary factors of our decision to postpone. Additionally, a sense of
responsibility towards our children at this time for an environment of
stability and reflection is indeed a priority.
We apologise to the artists, their various agents, management, and personnel
who invested valuable time and effort towards making this ATP a success. We
can only hope to see everyone springtime 2002 under more cheerful
circumstance.
