i know there are going to be a million responses to this, but i'd just like to say... Omar, you are your own worse enemy. look at how you respond to this. with your attitude, compassion will never win. you are taking part in the type of viscious cycle that fuels much of the hatred in the world. break the cycle, you weak bastard. you wanna be tough? you wanna show me how fucking tough you are? then fucking care. fucking cry. fucking help. i'm walking down there tomorrow and seeing what i can do. you can stay home, ON YOUR COMPUTER, and bitch. peace dude. i hope you grow up and learn the life-affirming lessons of compassion before you die. ps. i'm leaving now to find my friends and family and wont be here to respond, so dont bother.

Apparently here in Greenpoint people are starting to attack Arab shops. This is insane. I'm afraid to even leave the house at this moment. We've got an economy in recession and now this, its almost part of a recipe. And for those of you not sympathetic, well, I don't think very many of us have ever seen such a thing. Its not what you seen on the news. Theres a certain synthetic, symulated feel to tv. As I stood on the roof and watched the second tower collapse I really felt it. before my eyes, thousands of people have just died. I still can't quite understand it. Yes this is a music list but if this were a punk list it would be jammed with emails. Far too often we just sit here and talk about gear and mp3s and vinyl, its insane. Right now people that we've stood next to at shows, talked to via email, bought records next to, are dead. There are probably people from this list that were in those buildings, or family members and friends. Here we were getting all excited to see rdevine dj tonight and now and can't even locate a lot of the people I was expecting to see there. just sharing thoughts ____________________________________________ Adesh Deosaran Uneven Foundation T 1(718)349-1578 F 1(718)504-4010 adesh@unevenfoundation.com www.unevenfoundation.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yes this list was rudely interrupted today, but we cant think of anyone who hasnt been affected by this in some way, regardless of where they are in the world. Our hearts & prayers are going out to everyone in nyc. london is sister city to new york & we are hoping that all our nyc friends are all ok - whether they're music makers or just people. there is nothing left to offer but compassion & prayers that nothing else on this enormous scale is planned.. people are people life is life in a morality play, no one has the right to use people as pawns in whatever game they're playing. this is a sad day for the entire world. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

yes - I have many thoughts from both (or all) angles - from compassion, to the US oppression of the world, to barbarism - too many thoughts and doubts and fears to be willing to pick at every argument cropping up here on this list... but I am willing to speak on music and art - and my feeling is, was and will be that the groups of people making music, poetry, etc. will and should be the first to be concerned and aware about situations like this - art is life, it is the transcendance of things, and one responsibility I feel in matters like this is to use the energy that creates and is created in my art to put forth a transcendance, a peace, a love, and a comfort into the universal consciousness - I'm not incredibly political, and I don't write poetry or music inspired directly by the mundane world, but drastic change, upheaval, destruction like this, happening in the mundane world then becomes a thing of the magical realm, and I'll be putting a lot more magic toward compassion for all involved in the next day or so, this includes my upcoming performances and sessions, and bits of help at least are here at aaron@nquit.com if anyone can actually use it ----------------------------------------------------------------- Aaron Trumm NQuit (Never Never Quit) aaron@nquit.com www.nquit.com Music Available At: * http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/thirdoption * http://www.joesgrille.com/store/p-8633.html * http://thirdoption.iuma.com * http://ubl.artistdirect.com/fp2.asp?layout=artist_card&artistid=476400 * http://www.cdstreet.com/artists/nquit/ * http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005JJEY/qid%3D988850999/104-919049 6-7143939 * http://www.mp3.com/thirdoption * http://www.stationmp3.com/stationMP3/musicians/index.cfm?id=204 * http://www.musicbuilder.com/Third_Option/ * http://thirdoption.djcentral.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "activity@activaire" <activity@activaire.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Tuesday, September 11, 2001 4:04 PM Subject: [idm] NYC

we are okay in DC...we were sent home from work earlier today.. we are lucky that it was confined to a small space (here), but the loss of life is terrifying, and undoubtedly we all know people touched by the tragedy in our two cities. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
