I get into AudioGalaxy with VPC 4.0.2 running Windows 98, and it seems to
work pretty well. A little pokey on mg G4/400 with a gig of RAM, but
servicable.
VPC with Windows 98 is about $170-180 from most retailers/online vendors.
At Macworld NY, they demoed a new beta version of VPC running under OS X
10.1. I haven't downloaded the "test drive" yet, but some of the speedup
is no doubt due to improvements in OS X itself. We'll see...
Another Macintosh-native music/file sharing option is Aimster. It's in
beta and works alright.
