This is likely to already be common knowledge, but I just discovered where Aphex got "Alberto Basalm" from. I was taking a shower at a friends house only to discover a bottle of shampoo labeled with the great song's name. Was it a (girl) friend? Ha ha, I really laughed when I read this post. Being a female, I have been aware of this ever since... I suppose we just check out the hair products more closely than guys do :-) Now, here's the next quesion (for 10 points): do you know where the name "Ventolin" comes from? If you live in the US, it's an age thing. Alberto hair care crap was all over the TV in the 60s and somewhat in the 70s. And *I* knew what albuterol/ventolin was by the time I was, oh, 15 (1971). I thought the song was aptly named. jeff At 09:41 AM 7/19/2001, Irene McC wrote:

What about the geekiest of all titles - inkey$? How many of you know where that comes from? And has anyone been sad enough to try and figure out the complex math equation (track 2 on windowlicker)?? "INKEY$ is a command in the BASIC computer language. It is a device I/O function that reads a character from the keyboard. It INputs a KEY and sends it to a STRING variable." (I knew this from the aphex faq)

It's a type of inhaler medicine for asthmatics. I get a light asthma at times, but I use Albuterol (i think!). "salbutamol" as in the "salbutamol mix" is another type of asthma medicine I believe. I don't know how many other names on the Ventolin EPs are asthma-related... -Adam __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo! I doubt it's a real equation anyway. "The delta of the reciprocal value of M1 is negatively equivalent to the sum of D1 from 1 to N when the sum of yadda yadda yadda " :) I tried asking my math teacher, he didn't know... -C Adam Piontek said at ÒRe: [idm] Alberto BasalmÓ. [Jul/19/2001 19:55]
