I find labelling my MP3's such a mission - there MUST be some way of doing it quicker, but I just don't know how it's done. Using WinAmp, I go to the ID3 editor and then manually fill in each category - sometimes cutting and pasting from a track-list in Notebook to make it easier. Is there a way in which to globally fill in, say, Artist, Album, Year and Genre categories for one album, and then just changing the track title for individual tracks? If WinAmp doesn't handle it, which prog. should I be using? Many advance thanks for any hints. Being on a Mac I use SoundJam MP for my tagging. or MP3 Rage. Both excellent. I suppose you could find similar apps for pc that will do that. Irene McC said at Ò[idm] id3-taggingÓ. [May/22/2001 13:22]

MPTagger <http://surf.to/mptagger> is a great one for PC. It even has built in functionality that can "guess" ID3 information from the filenames. It has its quirks, but once you figure it out, you'll be id3-tagging faster than ever. -Ryan At 01:22 PM 5/22/2001 +0200, you wrote:

I want to thank all those who sent me recommendations for MP# tagging. Particularly Ryan Schilling who sent me this:
quoted 1 line MPTagger <> MPTagger <http://surf.to/mptagger> is a great one for PC.
However, I had some trouble getting there and for anybody else wanting to download this excellent app, here's the new address taken from the site:
quoted 1 line www.mptagger.com is the new official URL for MPTagger.> www.mptagger.com is the new official URL for MPTagger.
I have just installed and used it for the first time : it's idiot-proof and brilliant! Thanks very much - IDM-list delivers again.
