House of Distraction doesn't really sound much like
either Lily of the Valley or Ischemic Folks. There
are a few more melodic songs (like the Delarosa and
Asora & o9 joints), but the album is mostly
influenced by the Richard Devine school of IDM. 7 of
the 15 tracks are by Richard Devine, Otto von
Schirach, or are remixes of Richard Devine. I think
that the quality of the compilation suffers a bit from
its heavy reliance on remixes.
My overall impression of the House of Distraction
compilation is growing more positive with each listen.
It is a rather good slice of robotic soul, if a bit
inconsistant.
