I hold off on the self-promo normally (if you don't count sig files), but
I'm doing a gig on a local radio station tomorrow that premieres a
collaborative project I've been involved in this year, and would love to
hear some feedback.
I think the subject line probably says what needs to be said about our
style (or lack of ;-) . My flatmate and I have been getting indecently into
shit like Cameo (you may recall 'Word Up') and Ray Parker Jr (you may
recall that Huie Lewis & The News rip off 'Ghostbusters') and putting tunes
of that ilk through the sample-blender, programming some beats and live
keys... even a few guitar licks. This definitely is not just
sample-a-loop-and-let-it-roll material... It might be said that I've been
thrashing things like _that_ Matmos track off the Fat Cat split... then
again, my flatmate's been thrashing Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra. :-D
The live to air starts around 5pm Thursday New Zealand Time and you can
hear it at
http://www.radioactive.fm/real.html (you can also check what the
local time is from the same page, to check the time difference).
