hi ppl, trying to keep blatant adverts to a minimum, as per normal, but there's been a few new releases and info on the Monotonik (idm!) and Mono211 (breakbeat+eclectic) mp3 labels, so thought i'd just blast the info onto idmlist. if you wanna get to the labels, there's about 100+ mp3s and 200+ MODs now, wow, and everything is accessible via the same page: http://www.mono211.com firstly, the two newest mp3 releases are: Aereal - "Connect" (Monotonik) [a _really_ nice piece of melodic electronics, kinda early 90s, Black Dog-ish stylee, from a new UK artist who I seriously recommend you check out - labels, sign this guy now-ish.] Pendle - "Caffeine Low" (Mono211) [a tart slice of Archive-ish string-filled triphop from the former member of dream-pop band Butterfly Child, who's been soundtracking Playstation TV ads of late and whose Idmonster alter-ego, forthcoming on Monotonik, has been wowing the #// crowd.] Also, to summarise the latest Monotonik-artist-related news: Lots of Monotonik's friends (Vim!, Lackluster, Sleepy, Super Science, Thug) are on the Surgery "Initial Release" 2xCD compilation, which is finally getting good distribution outside Australia via Skimo and Hausmusik, amongst others, I believe - I'm sure Tim Koch will post when it's available at Skimo, if it isn't already. I recently got my copy, and it's frickin' great, imho. Surgery has also announced a forthcoming CD album from Monotonik-mainstay Vim! :) It's called "Linden:Home Of The Hits", and consists of 18 supercharged, superquirky tracks. I've maintained for a while that the two artists on Mono that I think most deserve infinite amounts of attention (although all of them rock!) are Lackluster and Vim!, and I'm glad to see Lackluster getting props galore, so hopefully Vim! will follow suit.. preview 3 tracks from the Vim! album at: http://www.mono211.com/content/releases/mtkmp29.html ..if you haven't already. I'm sure someone will post again when it's released - check Surgery website at: http://www.clinicdesign.com.au/surgery/home/index.htm ..for latest info, also regarding availability of all the kickass Surgery catalog (Super Science, Modula, Aspen, Pretty Boy Cross Over, Vim!) Oh, and Lackluster has a purple 7" due out soon on Zeal Records, and a CD under his real name (Esa Ruoho) in a slightly more ambient stylee out on U-Cover, also due soon. But was this already mentioned on-list? later, h0l. Wow! I loev this stuff. I just have to recommend to anyone who hasn't been to the Monotonik site and picked up some of this music that they do so immediately. Especially this new Aerial track which is incredibly beautiful. But this is the standard I have come to expect from Monotonik and Mon211. Here are the tracklistings from the two cd compilations I cut from there, these tracks are all of supremely high quality and are quite lovely: 01 Thug - Sudafed x2 02 Super Science - We're Like Air - Everywhere At Once 03 Pretty Boy Crossover - Oranje Bloom 04 ...And The Secret Formula - The Amazing Power Of The... 05 Lindon - Eksajoule 06 Kuu - Contours of Infinity 07 3818919_W - 702 08 Lackluster - 13.10.99 09 3818919_W - Ages 10 Thug - Obatem By Night 11 Jiva - Sous l'Eau A Pied 12 Prob - Iflai 13 Ramone+Trigger - Alpha Wezen 14 Bearded Vault System - Selling Puppies From A Tray 15 3818919_W - Cheshire 16 Radix - Counting Stars 01 Prob - Body Rock (remix) 02 Tweeter - Me and My Friend Lobstah 03 DJ Nova - Starshipoetry 04 Sense - Bubble Blower 05 Sushi Brother - Shadowfighter (Frank Bolero Remix) 06 4T Thieves - Dreamtime 07 Vae - Harry Slazenger 08 Vae - Sing,Silverduck,Sing 09 Sense - Kieko 10 Crashkid - Telerain 11 Prob - Emotion 12 Sense - 220500 13 Binary - Formel 2 (M.Gundlach remix) 14 Gun Purist - Slinky Red Thing Ross. ----- Original Message ----- From: "h0l -" <h0l211@hotmail.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Saturday, March 17, 2001 8:03 AM Subject: [idm] new monotonik + mono211 releases + info.

<snip> This is a great track. It's a remix of a Tori Amos song, and it's really nice. ftp://mirror.support.nl/pub/mono/drfetid/gun-purist-slinky-red-thing.mp3 -stefan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
