If you are in or can make to Bristol this Thursday (7 Dec), Pi is highly
recommended for a night's entertainment. Pi, or Phonic Investigations to
the vaguely interested and uninitiated, is a monthly night of
experimental audio-visual cabaret, featuring the mobile optical massage
salon of Cube Cinema affiliates, pan-A-vision, and a spiked smorgasbord
of phonic morsels in diverse and abstract flavours, including fucked
rock, clever bleeps and retro-interventionist-post-funk junk.
This Thursday, the line up is thus:
Downstairs:
GESCOM (Skam) - rare DJ set of whatever they damn well choose
DAT POLITICS (A-musik) - LIVE 4x4 laptop jamming of aching melancholia,
crackles, clicks, bangs and humour.
REX HASSELHOFF (Oil Experts) - mixing, scratching & tickling over live
n' dirty home-baked noize.
LOVEWIG (Stten Aggregates) - macro & micro sonic cartography, including
early modulations, krautrock, minimalism, avant rock, crack house, fuzz,
deep freeze & thrift-shop treasures.
Upstairs:
Electric Mammal Lounge - more visual treats plus music from very special
guests: Confident Bob, RLF, Barkertrax and Coco the Stationer. Too
diverse to describe, save that it will feature only the choicest cuts
from every musical beast tackled.
The time, the place, the price:
21.00 - 2.00
Platform 1, 24 Park Row, Bristol.
£5
Advance tickets available from Imperial music.
Thank you for your time
Luther van Dross
