I'm new to the IDM list (obviously), and I'm not entirely sure how everything works. For the amount of time that I have been subscribed I've just been watching the emails pour in and wondering how I could jump in. I've never used any kind of mailing list before, and though I hate to just flat out publicly admit that I don't know how to do something, I feel it is necessary in this case. If anybody wants to give me a quick rundown, that would be exceedingly kind. Anyway, I'll move on to something that could possibly be more pertinent to the conversation. As a sort of introduction, here is a list of five songs that have fascinated me lately. Suggestions for new material to listen to/discussion of these tracks would be great. 1. Christ. - Perlandine Friday 2. μ-ziq - Dexedrine Girl 3. Secede - Bye Bye Gridlock Traffic 4. Frog Pocket- Bo'arigh 5. Ceephax Acid Crew - Sidney Sizzler TL;DR I'm new here, please help me out. Also, I like the above songs. Feel free to judge the hell out of me.

Christ. is one of my personal favorites. If you like Boards of Canada you will *probably* like him. Unfortunately I can't find much of his discography for free streaming; I used to use Grooveshark, but sadly it no longer exists. I've not been all that crazy about the Frog Pocket I've listened to, but I really like that one song despite its repetitiveness. It has a certain intensity to it that I can't quite describe. I've only heard Gonglot (probably about ten years ago now), and Clint's assessment is pretty dead on. That said, nothing about it really made me feel like I needed to listen to it over and over again. On Sunday, October 18, 2015, Connor Higgins <connor1higgins@gmail.com> wrote:

Frog Pocket has never had me addicted and coming back for more like some others but I still put it on occasionally. Lots of other albums from the period have been forgotten. On 10/19/2015 7:38 AM, Alan Lucas wrote:

Well, I'm actually not that huge of a Frog Pocket fan. It's more a case of "I like this one song by them, but I'm lukewarm to the rest of their music", so unfortunately I can't really make any suggestions. In fact, I haven't listened to much of their music outside of Come on Primates, so I'm pretty much in the same boat as you on this. Frog Pocket did an EP for the benbecula minerals series box set as Slug Pocket that is worth checking out if you can find it. Good listening for Halloween time. Atmospherics over thick Scottish narrations. As far as his proper releases, I'd say Moon Mountain of the Fords and Gonglot are the better ones. I like the simple melody slowly morphing to chaos on tracks "Vaedre" and "Carac Cyls". -----Original Message----- From: AV2k [mailto:a_void2000@yahoo.com] Sent: Sunday, October 18, 2015 5:41 PM To: Idm List Subject: Re: An Introduction of Sorts Meh.

Welcome to the list. If you're enjoying Frog Pocket, you might enjoy Seven Ark as well. Or, better yet, check out some Clark based on your Frog Pocket track selection. I probably would have listened to Christ more over the years if it wasn't so difficult to google for. On 10/18/2015 3:46 PM, Ethan Tackett wrote:

I've only ever really listened to Body Riddle and a few random tracks that showed up on Grooveshark back when I was using the site. I'd say my favorite track off the album is Herzog. Christ. is an artist I can only describe as fascinating. A lot of his music can be found on his bandcamp, I'll include a link below. I agree, it's rather annoying to search "Christ. music" and get about what you would expect from such a query. I haven't heard of Seven Ark, I will give them a listen sometime. Any specific songs/albums you'd suggest? Christ.'s bandcamp: https://christmusic.bandcamp.com/ On Sun, Oct 18, 2015 at 6:15 PM, Sham Beam <sham.beam@gmail.com> wrote:

Seven Ark only has two albums. Not sure which one to recommend first, it's been quite a while since I listened to him at all. On 10/19/2015 1:39 PM, Ethan Tackett wrote:
