Bout 12 years ago, I was able to pick up plastic crates in San Fran from some diy shop that held 12 x 12 records. I got about 40 of these for my move to the UK. I also had an artist friend who was set designing cop some spare wood for me and together we designed some wooden shelving units with backs on them - they were custom, they cost a fortune to move from San Fran to London (I had four made) but they are the bomb. So if you have any skills or friends with diy - best to design your own around what space you have... I've seen people with metal shelves, a few private jazz record libraries in New York, but for me, I prefer wood. Just like I prefer vinyl :=) _______________________________________________________________________ SOLID STEEL - THE BROADEST BEATS - COLDCUT & FRIENDS BROADCASTING LIVE Three ways to listen: LIVE ON THE RADIO - BBC London Live 94.9FM, Monday, Midnight to 2AM BST LIVE ON THE WEB - BBC London Live Website http://www.bbc.co.uk/londonlive Archive of ALL Mixes - Ninja Tune Website http://www.ninjatune.net/solidsteel --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Pretty handy, allthough not really cool. Still looking for some handy 7" cases though. At home, i use the desk of an Ikea-bed... One of those "altitudebeds" with a bureau underneath it. that bureau can hold around 1000 records while the bed is currently used for storage of boxes:)

if you don't need to drag them around town and just need a place to store them, i recommend a wig case. i snagged a hellaciously colored (pink, blue, gold - like paisley on a bad trip) number from the 60's for about $1 at a thrift store 5 years ago and it's still holding up. it's about a foot tall and just the right width/depth, plus it's stylish as all hell. s. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Ikea also makes a nice wood bookshelf with 25 sections sized perfectly for storing vinyl....I know of quite a few heads who bought 'em for their stash (myself included). -paulp --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
