Yeah, whoever he or she is, I've only seen idiotic posts coming from that direction, sometimes with wannabe hacker like syntax to 'em. And it's a McGill address or something isn't it, which is strange ? Hmmm. Hopefully I just don't quite understand what the phrase "trolling for flames" means, but I figure I should respond to this somehow. I'm rather certain that if AFX wrote windowlicker to be a "pop" song (as I have variously heard attributed to him), the cut'n'paste photo just supports his critique of the ways in which pop music is packaged and sold. I wouldn't so much say that it's shock value as mockery of the whole music-selling machine of videos, magazines, etc. What does he "resort" to in order to pander his music? Tits and ass, all over the video and press materials, and it's a rather funny send up in my opinion. Although I don't know him personally, I'm almost positive it has absolutely nothing to do with Jordana and Wendy. He's doing his things for art's sake and comment on the music industry - they're doing it to live. And why in the world is gender reassignment surgery something to be mocked? Also in my opinion it's rather strange for someone to obsess so much about how two different individuals in two different generations of electronic music both needed to undergo gender reassignment procedures. Sit down on my big leather couch - now, tell, me: why does this bother you? Why did you so quickly link an obviously fake photo with the real life struggles and successes of two people who needed to have gender reassignment procedures? Now, tell me about your mother.... For my part, I'm glad that Jordana has had the procedures done - I'd much rather have her be herself and making rather good music than attempting more suicides until she finally succeeds. I don't know much about Wendy Carlos' situation, but I'm sure that it was similarly urgent - doctors don't allow people to have those sorts of procedures done on a whim, you know. Okay, I've spent my $0.02 on this, so I'll be quiet now. Ryan np : My apartment building, and the weird hiss of water when my neighbors take a shower. If I could somehow get chorus and dub delay on the transit sounds outside, this would be one stellar ambient piece!
