I'm not surprised that he did this, but he's not a jerk. He just seems really shy. I had the pleasure of interviewing him a couple years back for Loopz magazine (Orbital zine) and he was obviously uncomfortable talking with about 6 people at once, he doesn't like press crap. But once I started asking him specific questions about obscure stuff he perked up a bit. He still spoke quite softly though, and didn't show much emotion. Hated it when I asked to take his photo for the mag. Cool guy, though, and great music. He even remembered me (or was polite enough to pretend to, ha ha) about a year later when he was at Coachella and I pestered him again about a track he hadn't released made from sounds recorded on the Brooklyn Bridge - he said that the name of it was "Anchorage" and that it's around as an mp3, but I can't find it. Does anyone here have it? Just wanted to say that he seems nice enough all around, just massively shy, so you shouldn't take his shyness personally enough to get tweaked about. Ryan i.d.m.@netzero.com wrote: hey - i'm in p-town, too. i'd like to see oval, too. i said hi to mike paradinas after his show here earlier in the year, and he only just barely acknowledged my prescence. pretty big blow off. it kind of tweaked me a bit, but his set was pretty good and i'd see him again. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
