hi all,
someone just pointed out that there's a little half-page
article (part of their regular ones on net-related music)
that features both monotonik+friends and the idm remix
chain, both fairly idm-list related, in this month's issue
(September 2000) of 'Spin' magazine... (yes, yes 'Spin'
magazine, insert mainstream-media-scathing-attack here..)
anyhow, i scanned it in and it's at:
http://www.mono211.com/files/press/spinmtk.jpg
..for those who are interested. i think the author (Douglas
Wolk) lurks on this list, and if so, he deserves a special
wave from all of us. or something.
i also noted, although i don't have it on me, that the Kid606
interview in NME a few weeks back (NME love Kid606 in much the
same way that they have a Digital Hardcore fetish - he's got
_attitude_), there was some amusing remark made about 'certain
online mailing lists' and Christina Ricci. Anyhow, don't have
the exact quote to hand, but always nice to see our geekiness
getting further press, even of the sarcastic variety. Apologies
if I (or the interviewer) mangled the content of that little
message, anyhow, maybe i'd better find it to save myself from an
ensuing flamewar.
regards,
h0l.

np:jah wobble - '30 hertz collection' (30 hertz/emusic)
ps - new monotonik stuff coming soon enough from SuperScience,
as previously mentioned, the Binary album, and some nice material
from New Zealand-er, Aquaboogie (another idm-lister).
