I don't think anyone does 8 outputs on a laptop. http://egosys.net/eng/egosys.html Has a PCMCIA 2 in, 4output thing that has gotten good reviews.... kent williams -- kent@avalon.net http://www.mp3.com/chaircrusher -- tunes http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/directory.cgi?autostart=chaircrusher -- mix On Tue, 22 Aug 2000, Martin Glaubitz wrote:

See Ian's post: you need a desktop PC for this. (i.e., you need a internal sound card) That is, unless you want to use one of those dubious PCMCIA sound cards out there. -cf --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

checkout www.magma.com . They make a PCI extension system that cam be used on either Powerbook Laptops or PC laptops. so if you already have any 8 output card on your Main PC, system, you can load it in here. I've been thinking or Creating a very similar system of a Powerbook with a 2 slot Magma Unit, and Probably some MAS interface (since I already have a 2408). Otherwose I saw someone that Makes a PCMCIA card solution that had 4 outs... don't rememeber what it was.. I think it was called Wammi or something. But Who knows how good that is.. But as far as Eight out's on a native Laptop hardware? Hmm.. Don't know. This thing is funcking genius! What a brilliant invention. I stand corrected. Has anyone used one of these? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Does anyone know what the optional Ultra2 SCSI Controller that comes with the 2 Slot Card is for ? Also, I noticed the 4 Slot version Card comes in a "Quiet" version and I was wondering if anyone had a chance to compare the "Quiet" and regular versions ? If you wanted to add Ultra2 SCSI to your laptop (for Hard drive storage or Sampelr interface, etc.), it's integrated into the system so you don't have to use up one of the 2 precious PCI slots that are on the system with a SCSI card. So essentially, you get 3 PCI devices (one of them is fixed)...
