I thought this was funny (strange not funny ha ha). From pitchforkmedia.com's review of the "Full On Night" EP with Rachel's: "What Matmos manage to do with the song, on the other hand, is mind-blowing. The band had previously struck me as a marginal, second rate Autechre, channeling some of the same electro influences in pieces that depended too heavily on uninspired loops." Okay, to be fair, I haven't heard everything Matmos has done, but none of their music has ever made me think of Autechre! Still, it's a pretty positive review. Pitchforkmedia.com are a bunch of rancid scumbags. The worst kind of misguided, ear-free, wrong-headed music journalism. Not worth the bandwidth they occupy.. in other words what i'm trying to say is that i don't care for them... did you pick up on that? Right on, the only second rate Autechre i've heard recently is probably autechre themselves. With Arovane coming second best, and Funkstorung on a desirable third place.
