I'm going there around Tue. August 16 until Wed. Aug 23. Shows/clubs, record shops, etc.? Last time i was there i happened upon a free electronic music performance, "Electro Temps Real"... people playing classical instruments with weird processing... As a montreal dweller I could suggest you some places to visit: Venues and bars: - Billy Kun: on Mont-Royal (near St-Denis), they have minimal/IDM nights on thursday and friday, interesting music on saturday. - Laika: On st-Laurent (4042), nice lounge with minimal or house stuff. Not cheezy, and quite laid-back. - Ex-Centris: On st-laurent, nice place to visit outstanding architecture and movies. Shopping: - Atom Heart: on sherbrooke, metro station Sherbrooke, corner of St-Denis... hard to find but really good selection of music. - CD ésotérik: metro station Guy-Concordia, on Ste-Catherine... really good selection of music. - Fichtre: on berri, one street north of mont-royal.. pretty interesting selection there too. - Rayon Laser: on st-laurent, near ex-centris, nice place + cool owners. - Rotation: west of st-laurent, on Prince-Arthur... very nice.
