I'm curious... this is the second time I've seen someone do this recently (for the Gescom MD). Somebody will post that they have something for sale/trade, and then almost immediately another person will post that they've either seen it for less somewhere else, or that they know of another place that may or may not carry it. This is just plain rude. Why would you side-step someone's sale? I've seen this done so many times on so many different lists. If you know of a place that carries the Gescom minidisc, then post a lead by all means. But waiting until a sale list is posted serves no purpose other than to be spiteful. My suggestion(s) would be to post a lead when you know of it, and/or to wait a few days after a person has posted their sale to offer other lead options. And most importantly... do not use the same subject header as the original post. .`-). christopher miller o o.' evil@fdt.net == ' ps. I do not know the original seller, nor am I taking his side. I just do not agree with these rude sales tactics. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Why is it rude? I have no problems with stopping someone's attempt to cash in on so-called "rare" recordings when they're available for *good* prices somewhere. -- andrij. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I think, on this list in particular, everyone imagines that everything that gets put up for auction is out of print and rare and will fetch a high price, whereas lots of people sell stuff on ebay just because they don't need it and want to recoup some portion of what they paid. Not that it's any of my business!
