greetings,
so on my way from binghamton back to new york city this weekend i was thinking about the liner note debate on the list. it occurred to me that it is advantageous to an artist, especially in IDM, to be mysterious. an artist knows that there is so much media out there, with mags, videos, and the all knowing internet, that creating cunfusion and curiosity will make you try harder. "boy, these cats are good, but it says nothing about them. i will go on =line and read about theme at cdnom, listen.com, find three different fan sites." in this manner that have put themselves in your brain for an hour instead of ten minutes of looking at liner notes, followed by listening.
fifteen years ago this wouldnt have work.
