I know they've already been mentioned several times before, but I just wants to throw down a bit more praise for the two recent albums from Lee Norris - Metamatics "Neo Ouija" (on Hydrogen Dukebox) and Norken "Soul Statis Bureau" (on Beau Monde). Got them today and they're an excellent duo of discs, both combining elements of mellow electronica, downtempo house and other groovy vibes. Absolutely wonderful stuff... I can't wait for the debut of his Neo Ouija label in the new year! I have to agree with Greg on this one. Norken's Southern Soul is some of the smoothest deep techno/tech-house i've heard this year. This cd contains tracks from the Southern Soul 12" on Clear sublabel Reel as well as tracks from the Tidal Frequencies 12" on Beau Monde sublabel Numbers plus a bunch of previously unreleased tracks. I've heard that a remix 12" for the title track, Southern Soul, will come out soon but I dont know whether the mixes are the same ones from the Reel 12" (CSM & John Beltran) or new remixes. Sorry, I was talking about Norken's Soul Statis Bureau cd on Beau Monde. Southern Soul is the name of their ep on Reel.
