Fark. I've been on IDM for years and I still feel behind when it comes to exposing my ears to what's out there. I know Lance is an early adopter but this is getting ridiculous. I've heard of maybe 40% of the artists he mentions, and heard output from about 10% of those. I just gotta face it -- I can't keep up. I'm still listening carefully to FSoL's Lifeforms to make damn sure I haven't missed anything. The last thing I bought was Warp 10+3 and don't expect to get completely through that until some time next decade at this rate. All credit to you Lance, I admire your energy. I just sometimes wish I had a more permanent internet connection and a less permanent job. And the Foreign Terrain LP-1 is really nice. Laid-back ambience and beats. np: Speedy J: Public Energy #1 (thanks everyone for reminding me to dig this out) Lance said...

And I just mentioned the better known releases! : ) Actually when you are considered somewhat of a media type (journalist/dj/reviewer/etc) you get sent a lot of releases from the lesser known artists/labels who are hoping to become better known though you! I'm sure net vets like Andrew Duke, Sean Cooper, Greg Clow, Pietro, the Grooves guys, the KUCI crew, and Marsel @ Forcefield (to name just a few) all know what I'm talking about. Plus almost ten years of musical curiousity have also helped in my knowledge. : )

Keeping up like I try to do IS definitely a job in itself but unlike regular jobs you spend money instead of earning it! : (

Not to make thinks worse but if you like LP-1 then you might want to get the two new cdr albums by the Foreign Terrain guys who now record under the name Black Faction. The two releases are called Internal Dissident pts 1 & 2 and both are on Foreign Terrain/Black Faction's own Imprint label. -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Just one question - how many of these artists will you be listening to 5 years from now? Che --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Of this list, the ones with the most staying power (ie 5 yrs from now) would be Lithops, Sybarite, Benge, Adrien75, Dettinger, Lillienthal, Solvent, and Animal on Wheels. -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
