Benbecula 004..also known as Phase 6's
latest release, "Swimming in Lemonade".
Another plug for this Edinburgh Scotland
project released through Benbecula Records.
This cdr which could be considered a mini-
album clocking in at 31 minutes is a another
soothing tekno excursion of fine melodies and
experimental structures. Lots of direct four by
four beats, snappy chords, crisp highs, and
pulsing rhythm's which is a bit on the dark(er)
side of electronica, as compared to benbecula
002 ("Sunshine"). If you're into experimental tekno,

Phase 6 has slowly become one of the top tekno
artists these past few weeks, for me at least. Stay

And while i'm talking about Scotland, another
label based in Scotland called Mouthmoth should
be mentioned. John Wilson, who also released
material under the Frog Pocket alias with Autumn
Records has released a full-length cdr with lovely
hand designed artwork called "You're The One For
Me". Some of the most distorted, yet coherently
funky electronics on this release. While i haven't
totally digested the vibe's on here, much of this
release is tinged to the maximum with wild and
generally disorienting beats. Frog Pocket's music
tends to go against the grain, while the cluster of
abstract knots keep's this one intact all the way
through. Lots of subtle melodies wrapped in here
as well.. I'm pretty sure this is a newly established
label, run solely by John in Scotland, but you can
