Why not just call it "artificial intelligence" (or "AI") -- therein the compliment is vague (Is it really intelligent? Or is it just artificial? Ha ha). My usual explanation is "Wierd techno". I think we probably could drop 'dance'. Actually my local record shop (big up massive the Richard's records posse) has seperate sections for wierd beats and experimental, as well as having (DJ) Hell records under both UK and US Techno. I'm quite glad I started this one: this could be where the new term first gains currency. Or possibly not. But it does seem a bit odd sticking to a name that most of these posts have disagreed with. You might have better luck getting people to adopt your terminology if you learn how to spell it correctly. C.
