I recently picked up, totally at random, a kind of ambient dub 12". The information on it was just 'Blue train' and '005 - "Special Edition"' Since I bought it to find out what ambient dub, like, actually is, none of this means anything to me (any clarifications gratefully accepted... its rather good. I want more...). Anyhow, the reason that I'm waffling on is that one of the tracks is recorded, presumably at 133 bpm, as a single circular groove around the record, thus giving it infinite length (+ making life easy for djs). Does this make it the longest record ever? Huh? Jorkens

On the topic of the Bluetrain label, i'd like to drop some major praise on this label. Bluetrain, which is one of Steve O'Sullivan's many projects, features a sweet dub meets tech-house/techno sound not that fits in perfectly with the bc/m/bm/r&s or thule stuff. There are six records out so far and one compilation cd for the vinyl-challenged. I cant recommend these records enough. A Bluetrain discog... . The Hustler: s/t 12" (Bluetrain 01) . nope, the longest record would be the rrr500 compilation. 500*infinity. that's a hell of a long time. -- david

I just want to know when this will be available on CD.. but seriously the RRR500 Compilation is quite cool. To bad it is next to impossible to hear everything and to find everything. Wasn't someone on here using a magnafying glass to find the groove they wanted? Tip of the Day: El Stew on Om records is quite good. Doesn't seem very special at first but it has something that just draws you in. Features Buckethead, DJ disk(ISP), Eddie Def and brain(primus). Hip Hop/electro vibes from an alternate universe if you will. -daniel Head Monkey Mad Monkey Records http://monkey.eliteware.com On Thu, 19 Aug 1999, david turgeon wrote:
