A few days back someone on the list mentioned to me about wanting to hear something more soulful after hours-on-hours of listening to the IDM-"electric" vein, if you will. Of course, I agreed humbly but still find myself slipping back to the Tech-Techhouse stuff. Heres this evenings ordeal. A couple of hours ago I dug into some older CDs, and just happened to pull out Sade, Stronger than Pride, and Diamond Life. Feeling somewhat content, I moved on and then grabbed old Level 42, World Machine, and The Best Of.... Interesting combo you gotta admit but hers the thing, right now, I am slaming....at a mid-volume level Kraftwerk: Electric Cafe, Elektra Records, 1986. This stuff is some of the original stuff that I'd hit a long time ago and to some extent introduced me to TECHNO--but I was unconscious of what TECHNO was! However: The history of it is, an EX of mine who gave me the tape originally during that time, died while in College up-state, so I may just hit "Computer Love" also by Kraftwerk in sorta commemoration of her. I will probably top the night of with Chris Gray or Mr. Fingers for the soul. (Actually, the C. Grey just started!)
