to whomever requested a list of idm stores in NYC here's the scoop.
there is a store called etherea and the address is 66 ave A between 4th and
5th streets.
it carries mille plateaux, mego, fat cat, skam, profan, omc, emanated, etc.
lots of german and english and domestic stuff.
oh and it carries dnb and trip hop too if you like that sort of thing.
another great store is other music at 4th and laffayette but you can't
listen to the records before you buy them there, great selection though.
oh and don't forget temple records on ave B for your techno/more dancefloor
stuff-great store-love it.
oh, and no dj attitude.
and for older, out of print obscurities of try sonic groove on carmine
street.
etherea also has a weekly club on wednesdays at brownies at 11pm.
there is no cover and the focus is wierd electronic/idm, however you may
hear a beach boys tune thrown in for good measure.
