that's the funniest thing i've read today. true, too, but a great description. i've always wondered why so many people on this list seem to enjoy the ant-zen stuff but are apparently oblivious to the rather similarly obnoxious stuff coming out on ambush, praxis, zhark, etc. but then i just figure lots of people on this list were into industrial at some point and got burnt on it; ant-zen and it's affiliates being the rare exceptions to the stultification of industrial. -b. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I've heard of Praxis, the other two labels are completely unkown to me. Are there any CD releases from these labels? What would you recommend? np: Dryft- Cell -Dayv! Ambush is amazing! My favorie label in YEARS! http://www.c8.com/ambush Zharkis pretty good too, and they have a site at c8.com as well. In fact, just check out www.c8.com for all kinds of great stuff (kid606, lesser, bombardier, christophe de babalon, etc) Anything hard and dark in that vein. -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@atdot.org | atomly@cyrus.net http://www.atomly.com | http://www.mp3.com/atomly [CELL|(888)522.3830] | [CELL|(701)729.1631] | [HOME|(612)676.1817] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Somatic Responses is really great. It does take me back to my industrial days, before the scene stagnated. I used to just love Skinny Puppy. Still do, really, when I'm in that kind of mood. Actually now I think of it, I always thought Skinny Puppy was great music for sex - I must give SR a try :) Ross. ----- Original Message ----- From: leg to the arm yeah leg arm to the head . <awesoma_powa@hotmail.com> To: <idm@hyperreal.org> Cc: <laughing@yourpain.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 19, 2000 2:28 PM Subject: [idm] somatic responses

Widerstand is another good label in this vein, as well as SOME of the DHR limited releases, low res, isolate records (isolaterecords.com) and ghetto safari. There's not TOO much out there, it's a pretty small sound right now, so you should be able to hear most of it. zhark and ambush both have CDs out - the ambush disc (_mash the place up_, released on vinyl in the US on wabana) consists of mostly/all tracks from their 12" releases, based in distorted and fucked up jungle. the zhark cd i haven't heard, but i get the impression it's more in a calm but menacing vein than the 12"s i've heard on the label. individually, i'd recommend: potere occulto (somatic responses & christoph fringeli) 2x10" (praxis) - dark somatics atmospheres w/scarier beats & distortion. tip. somatic responses (just about everything) - the 12"s on six shooter, uncivilized world, and deadly systems are all profoundly disorienting and harsh, all worth getting. hecate _hate cats_ 12" (praxis) - seriously fractalized, fucked up beats. makes panacea look like a big fat lazy german. her other releases (_negative world status_ and _hecate jacks off the jackal_ [both zhark] are both nice, but not as mind-blowing) comparable to venetian snares. antichrist s/t 12" (sub/version) - christoph fringeli & pure (the mego pure) doing satanic techstep/noise. din s.t. _in the case of..._ 12" (praxis) - a guy from fever does atomized breaks/noise. seriously damaged and chaotic. laurent ho/ho.exe _syntetic_ cd+cdrom (uncivilized world/epiteth) - seriously obnoxious hardcore techno that would fit in well on ant-zen or hymen. a collection of his first 3 or 4 12" releases. dan hekate _new skin 1_ 12" - dark and synthetic broken beats. scary. stella michelson/karnage 01 12" - hyperspeed hardcore stuff, kind of uneven but brilliant in spots. senical _dark organized incidents_ 12" - somatics-like, but with more emphasis on the technoid rhythms. v/a _bass bomb_ 12" (soundlab) - worth getting for the a, which alternates nomex & dj scud's classic ragga-noise "total destruction" 7" and i-sound. geroyche vs. wintermute _letzte zuflucht_ 12" (kool.pop) - sort of like christoph de babalon on lots of depressants. and the venetian snares stuff is insane, as well... full reviews of din s.t. & hecate at http://www.homestead.com/spleens/files/nftsos33.htm#DIN if you want to hear sound samples of a lot of this stuff, check out www.c8.com - lots of realaudio, i've discovered many a record via their tunes page. you can buy lots of this stuff from history of the future (the skimo of hardcore) - http://i.am/hotf - he just put out a venetian snares 12". -b.
