Don't forget our Inaudible netcast TONIGHT (In three hours) from 9-11 pm Eastern Standard Time. Hear John C (Bent Crayon) and I spin two hours of the music we speak so highly of. This week expect to hear some real gems including the Boards of Canada "Twoism" release as well as a sneak peak at two upcoming Plug Research titles by TD5 and Mannequin Lung. Other sounds you may experience this week include old Funkstroung, new Daniel Ibbotson, and the evolution of Maneul Gottsching epic e2-e4 provided by Manuel, Sueno Latino, carl craig, derrick may, mannequin lung and basic channel. Plus more new music than you can shake a dat at. The show will be accessible by visiting http://www.wcsb.org every Wednesday from 9-11 pm EST. The show will be broad- cast in the AudioActive format (which is actually much better than RealAudio). You can download the Audio Active plugin for free at http://www.audioactive.com/player/ During the Inaudible show we will be giving away promo 12"s and cds so yet another reason to tune in. We'll now have an easier giveaway format as well. If you need any more info email us at bcrayon@bentcrayon.com or mclance@nacs.net Hope you'll tune in with us tonight... -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states

I've had the "Randa Rommet" ep on Warp and was curious if there's anything (new) coming out from these guys. Any/all information would be great. Thanks... I was in Other Music in NYc the other day and they were playing this promo copy of some new comp coming out next month on Chocolate Industries. The guy let me take a look at the cover (which was handwritten), and Phoenecia, PBO, R. Devine and Jeswa were among the contributors. It sounded very wicked and if you dig the Warp release I'm sure your would dig this. Anyone have more info on this comp? Did I miss a post about it? peace Nate On Fri, 2 Apr 1999, `Pietro wrote:

Hey, Anybody heard the new Phoenicia album on Schematic? (It's new on cd anyway). It just appeared in the shops here today and surprised me because there was no mention of it on the list (that I saw anyway). It's not really an album. It compiles the two "Odd Job" 12"s - one with two remixes by Soul Oddity (which is really Phoenecia themselves doing the electro thang) and one with mixes by a bunch of people like Autechre and such. Plus it has an extra Takeshi mix. I'm was fairly underwhelmed myself. The Soul Oddity mixes are fun, but the other ones seemed pretty Schematic-by-numbers to me. Than again, I was probably extra critical of it since I got the Norken, Metamatics and Dopplereffekt discs at the same time and had just been blown away by all three of them before spinning the Phoenecia. So perhaps I should revisit it a little later. Cheers for the info. Re Norken etc. I have to say I prefer all that kind of stuff by far, but after having the Ischemic Folks comp for weeks and being a bit iffy about it I suddenly found that when I'm in a certain mood it just blows me away too, so my estimation of the schematic sound went up a lot that day. Not exactly easy listening though, give me nice melodies any day. I gotta agree, the Norken album in particular is amazing.
