Considering how much bandwidth gets spent talking about the quality of any one piece of music on this list, I'd like to know what kind of speakers and/or stereo gear people use. I currently have Paradigm 9seMkIIs (driven by Luxman R-351), but want to upgrade and would like some opinions based on what other IDMers have and/or like. I've recently been looking into PSB, B&W and JM Labs stuff...

Speakers: Acoustat 1+1. Pure electrostatic design. 2m high! Extremely accurate and uncoloured sound, very detailed. Excellent stereo imaging. No longer produced? Similar designs exist from other firms. 3

I use 1940 vintage Altec and RCA sound reinforcement horns (from a movie theater) with custom crossovers and a Velodyne subwoofer. This gives me PA-like dynamic capabilities without the ear shredding colorations of most PA systems. The system is humongous, but the effortless power it delivers is addictive. ----------
