The Saul Williams ('Twice The First Time') and Roots Manuva tracks are amazing... The Ab Rude is also good but he's got a style that you have to get used to. The rest of it is pretty good, nothing outstanding, though a few related questions- how is the new Roots Manuva LP ?(anyone gotta promo?). is 'Slam' (on the NY Spoken Word Poetry scene (read: hip hop) and starring Saul Williams ) out on video yet?

another question: does saul williams have an album coming out on big dada? "twice the first time" is easily the best track on that disc. most of the rest of the stuff just kind of bored me. does williams have any stuff anywhere else? i'd sure like to hear more... thanks, alan! np:helmet:aftertaste On Fri, 12 Mar 1999, mlt wrote:

well, it's mighty hip-hop to say "...roots..." in your songs. * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com ##:# with dreams come responsibilities icq: 5562209

Note that Luke Vibert shows up on Black Whole Styles comp. in a few collaborations. <sound of ears perking up> New Roots is deep and dubby, but I've listened to it only once. laz mlt wrote:

actually, acording to the Ozone web site {http://www.inch.com/~ozone/saul/saul.html]} he's going to have a 12" out on Grand Royal with El-P (from Co-Flow), then an album on American/Columbia.

Aside from the 12" on Big Dada, he has a nice track called 'Ohm' on Lyricist Lounge Vol. 1 (Rawkus), and a track with KRS-1 on the 'Slam' soundtrack. That's all i have. He also has a book of his poetry out called 'The Seventh Octive' np: The Roots: You Got Me (me tienes remix) mlt

Which should not be confused with REM syndrome: write a mediocre song, then write it ten more times per album, maybe even use it again on the next album. ;) Che "Aphex's records are now available via the BMG music club. Time for another "save the underground" revival!" - Zenon M. Feszczak
